Roscommon GAA is one of 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland and is responsible for delivering live news and updates to Gaelic games fans around County Roscommon. FCDM was briefed on creating a new website for Roscommon GAA, in addition to providing ongoing technical support and website maintenance to ensure the Roscommon GAA website is reliable and accessible.
Covering all Gaelic games from hurling to handball, the new Roscommon GAA website is designed with the user experience in mind – displaying News, Fixtures and Results in a clear and succinct way, updated in real-time.
NEW WEBSITE, ONGOING MAINTENANCE & TECHNICAL SUPPORT
The new Roscommon GAA website was built with a mobile first approach and adapted for desktop. Key elements of the Roscommon GAA website, such as the Fixtures and Results tables, needed to work seamlessly on mobile so website visitors could find out the latest information on the go.
FCDM also completed a full redesign of the website, creating a bespoke design for Roscommon GAA that’s bright, modern and gives that “sporty” feel. Details such as a 3D banner effect on the Roscommon GAA homepage were added to give an extra experience for desktop visitors and make the website less static.
With so much information on Gaelic sports to display, the Roscommon GAA website was designed to display game information in a clear and categorised way. The News feed carousel, which always shows the latest article first, is prominent on the homepage so visitors can easily navigate to stories of interest.
LIVE FIXTURES & RESULTS & PROFILES
The Fixtures and Results tables on the homepage pull information directly from a live feed integration added to the site by FCDM. This gives the tables a constant stream of information and keeps them current and up-to-date, establishing the Roscommon GAA website as the central hub for all the latest Gaelic games news.
To provide even more information about Gaelic games in County Roscommon, a dedicated PLAYER PROFILES section was created to detail all current team players. The PLAYER PROFILES section of the website is continuing to evolve, with detailed statistics on players and other information becoming available.
In addition to PLAYER PROFILES, the CLUBS section of the Roscommon GAA website is also frequently updated to give details, crests and website information on all the GAA clubs of Roscommon.
